Check the status of Handheld Software and third-

party applications on a handheld

You can compare the Handheld Software and third-party applications installed on a handheld against

the Handheld Software and third-party applications defined in the user’s software configuration. You

can also identify handhelds that are not running the most recent or desired version of Handheld

Software.

1. In the BlackBerry Manager, in the left pane, click Handhelds.

2. In the User Name list, click a user.

3. Click Update Configuration Check Status.

The lower pane displays the following handheld configuration status information:

Handheld security

To manage handheld security, you can set a new handheld password that replaces the existing password.

This action locks the handheld and prompts the user for the new password. If the handheld has an

existing password, a prompt alerts the user to accept the password. Users can accept the new password

or continue to use their existing password.

You can disable a handheld and delete all of the information stored on that handheld, including

application data. The handheld can later be re-enabled by a wireless activation or by activating the

handheld and loading applications using the administration computer.

on the user’s handheld

System Status the status of the handheld’s current Handheld Software with respect to the user’s defined software

configuration

Application Status the status of the handheld’s current third-party applications with respect to the user’s defined

software configuration
