BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 Service Pack 1 Release Notes for Microsoft Exchange
Known issues
SDR 81433 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1, in some circumstances, if a meeting invitee declined an instance of a recurring
meeting that occurred in a different daylight saving time status (for example, if the current date was not daylight saving time
and the invitee declined a meeting that occurred during daylight saving time), the organizer received the update on the
BlackBerry device as a message instead of a meeting response and the invitee status remained “Invited.”
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 79957 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.0 and later, in some circumstances, meeting responses that were sent from the
BlackBerry device failed with an unlisted message error.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, meeting responses are sent and received correctly.
SDR 64652 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1, in some circumstances, if a user created a recurring appointment in one time zone
on the BlackBerry device, and the user’s desktop email application was in another time zone, the appointment did not appear in
the desktop email application.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 78656 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 and ealier, if a user created an email address for a new contact or modified the email
address for an existing contact in the BlackBerry device calendar and set the default internet message format for the contact to
allow the desktop email application to determine the sending format, after the information for the contact was synchronized
with the desktop calendar, the default internet message format was changed to "Send using Outlook Rich Text Format" in the
desktop email application automatically .
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, when you set the default internet message format for a contact, the
setting is retained after the information is synchronized.
BlackBerry Instant Messaging for Novell GroupWise
SDR 81196 When several events occur in rapid succession, one of the events might not display correctly in BlackBerry Instant Messaging
for Novell GroupWise (for example, if a user closes a conversation in BlackBerry Instant Messaging for Novell GroupWise while
a user in the conversation changes the status, the status change does not appear).
Workaround:
> Log out and then log in to BlackBerry Instant Messaging for Novell GroupWise again.
BlackBerry Instant Messaging for Microsoft Live Communications Server
SDR 77973 If users delete a contact, the “message queue overflow” error message might display and they are signed out of BlackBerry
Instant Messaging for Microsoft Live Communications Server.
BlackBerry Instant Messaging for Sametime
SDR 69400 If users log in to BlackBerry Instant Messaging for Sametime, presence notification is turned off on their email client.
SDR 54287 When a user adds a contact in their desktop instant messaging client whose name contains special characters, the contact name
appears incorrectly. If the same user adds the same contact in the BlackBerry Instant Messaging for Sametime, the contact
name appears correctly. Both the correct and incorrect names are included in the user’s Buddy list.
BlackBerry MDS Runtime
SDR 88821 BlackBerry MDS Runtime loses connectivity with the server when it is activated with BlackBerry MDS Services that have been
downgraded from the previous version. The BlackBerry MDS Application requesting data from the server does not receive a
response. All BlackBerry MDS Applications lose connectivity.
Workaround:
1. Install the BlackBerry MDS Runtime again and reactivate it with BlackBerry MDS Services.
2. Instruct users to initiate reactivation with the downgraded BlackBerry MDS Services before using any BlackBerry MDS
Applications from the BlackBerry device.
SDR 82844 You might experience problems when switching a BlackBerry device between different BlackBerry Enterprise Servers that share
the same BlackBerry MDS Services. Under some conditions the BlackBerry MDS Applications (including the BlackBerry MDS
control center) are hidden from the Home screen.
Workaround:
> Activate the BlackBerry device with the BlackBerry MDS Services manually.
